That took me to this story:
Libyan Deputy Interior Minister Wanis al-Sharif blamed loyalists of former Libyan ruler Muammar Gaddafi for the attack, while stressing that the United States should have removed its personnel from the country when news of the film's release broke.
"It was necessary that they take precautions. It was their fault that they did not take the necessary precautions," he said.
To paraphrase, "The Americans are to blame for their deaths on their sovereign territory not because we are unable or unwilling to provide adequate security or control of our population within our sovereign territory, but because they should have left before shit got bad."
Here's a thought: Secure the embassy grounds with a scattering of weaponized anthrax, smallpox, and plague spores. Then release a statement that says "The Libyans should have take precautions. It was their fault that they did not have an effective public health system to provide vaccinations for all their citizens."
It's like blaming a woman for her own rape (which, come to think of it, is yet another POLICY of the "Religion of Peace™.")
The first question, looking at two attacks on two embassies, on the 11th anniversary of 9/11, is “Am I really being asked to believe that
a) this wasn’t a coordinated attack
b) this was simply the result of a crappy Youtube video that isn’t part of ANY government policy or program,
c) there are many, many peace-loving muslims who abhor this behavior… because they are pretty damned silent about it, unlike when they actually abhor a behavior, storm embassies, and kill people to protest. I don’t seem to recall any muslims getting super pissed about any attacks on Americans, protesting and then storming the embassies of the countries responsible on US soil.
In Egypt, embassies weren’t attacked when Mubarak was in charge. Since the revolution, protesters have attacked the Israeli, Saudi, American, Syrian, and Burmese embassies. In Libya, after a Ronald Reagan foreign policy care package delivered by some F111’s in the 1980’s; we never heard so much as a peep from them at any of our embassies.
Of course, there’s always the Muslim Brotherhood’s response.
Logic failure: I am angry that your video depicts muslims as violent sociopaths. To protest you expression of free speech that I disagree with, I will storm your embassies, murder your diplomats, and drag their bodies through the streets, then burn down your embassies.
On 4 November, just ask yourself how this was handled by the administration—Reaganesque, Carteresque, or Clintonesque? (BTW, Reaganesque involves the USS New Jersey, Carteresque involves boycotting Olympics, and Clintonesque involves schtupping an intern and invading Bosnia.)
This whole crazy world, is just too frustrating.
